How it runs.
The theory is online and you work through it at your own pace, around your job. The practical is two days here in the clinic, with just two students on the day, so you have me beside you for both of them.
Level 2 groups usually run to six. At a college it can be a class of twenty, and you will spend a fair amount of it watching from the back. Two means I am beside you for both days, and it means you cannot hide, which is rather the point.
The theory, in your own time
Work through the learning modules, quizzes and coursework online, at whatever pace fits around your job. You finish this before you come.
Two days in the clinic
Hands on skin from the start, with models arranged for you, so you practise on real faces with real variation instead of on the person sitting next to you.
Assessed while you work
Your practical assessment happens during those two days, once the theory is complete. Consultation forms and treatment records are part of it, because they are part of the job.

Who is this course for?
Complete beginners with no beauty background, and working therapists who want a recognised VTCT facial award rather than another one-day certificate. You need no previous qualification and no experience. If your goal is advanced skin work or laser, the VTCT Level 3 Access to Aesthetic Therapies is the better route.
What does it cost, and what is included?
It is £995 plus VAT. That covers VTCT registration and certification, the full online learning programme, your learner workbook and coursework, both practical days in the clinic, assessment and internal quality assurance, and support from me throughout the qualification. Everything on that list is in the price.
How long does it take?
The theory is online and you work at your own pace, so most of the timeline is yours. The practical is two days in the clinic, and you complete the theory before you attend. VTCT qualifications must be finished within twelve months of enrolment.
What do I need before I can start?
Nothing. No previous beauty qualification and no experience. Some colleges ask for Level 1 English and Maths before they will accept you. Here you need to be comfortable completing written coursework and talking to clients, and the online programme takes you through both.
Is VTCT the same as an NVQ?
Not quite, and the two get confused constantly. NVQ is a type of qualification. VTCT Skills is an awarding organisation, and it offers both NVQ and non-NVQ qualifications. This one is a VTCT Skills Award, regulated by Ofqual and recognised across the UK, which is what insurers and employers actually check.
What is a VTCT Level 2 equivalent to?
Level 2 on the regulated qualifications framework sits alongside GCSE grades 9 to 4. In beauty it is the standard entry-level professional qualification: the one that lets you carry out facial treatments commercially, and the one an insurer will normally ask to see. It is a working qualification rather than an academic one.
What qualifications do I need to be a facialist?
To work professionally and be insured you need an accredited facial qualification. A regulated award like this one is the strongest starting point because it can be verified: the qualification number is 500/8884/1 and it sits on the Ofqual register. An unregulated one-day diploma is not the same thing.
